JASON FARMER
Jason Farmer grew up in Huntly, a small town in the Waikato, New Zealand. From a young age it was apparent that he had a love of cars. His father Kevin was involved in rallying and young Jason would be found spending hours in the garage helping with the preparation and repair of the vehicles.
His first chance to compete in a rally was at the age of 13 where he sat beside a family friend in a Mini Cooper at Rally of Whangarei; from then on he was hooked. Jason quickly started getting rides where ever and whenever he could and at the age of 15 alongside Dave Strong, he competed in his first NZ Rally Championship (1995). Jason then became the youngest person in the world at the time to compete in a WRC event.
Since sitting alongside Dave Strong back in 1995, Jason has partnered with many drivers in New Zealand and overseas. He has assisted multiple drivers in achieving National titles, but it wasn’t until joining Dave Holder in 2015 that he would gain his own title. Dave and Jason became the overall New Zealand Champions in 2016 and it’s a title that Jason will never forget. He is truly thankful for achieving the award alongside such a great person.
